Microsoft has officially announced the addition of a new feature to its Teams video chat application, which is animated backgrounds, according to the company's website.

The animated backgrounds feature, as its name indicates, aims to transform the background during video chats into animated virtual backgrounds.
The launch of the new feature aims to improve the meeting experience for users by providing a wide range of diverse options that are in line with their preferences, and adds innovation and customization to these options.
Now, Microsoft is testing the animated backgrounds feature in the beta version of the Teams app, which is available to the general public on Windows or Mac computers. This feature supports, at the moment, a few preset backgrounds from Microsoft.
In the future, Microsoft is expected to provide a wider selection of animated wallpapers and make it easier for users to add their own personal wallpapers.
You can select the desired background before the meeting starts via the main screen, where you choose the effects and avatars and open the video effects to select the background that suits you.
And the provider Microsoft indicates that the new feature will not be available on devices with low specifications, as it will require the presence of at least 8 GB of random memory and a quad-core processor as a minimum.
Users must join a beta known as Teams Public Preview to take advantage of this feature, which will be launched later this year.
In a fitting vein, Microsoft has announced its plan to remove Teams chat integration from Windows 11, and instead decided to add a shortcut to the free version of the standalone Teams app.
